Winter Light 2009 Festival

winter light festival.jpg

Are you suffering from a combination of the post-holiday blahs and the effects of the deep-freeze we seem to be stuck in?

May I make a suggestion?

The 2009 Winter Light Festival should get you excited about the joys of a prairie winter once again! The festival kicks off on January 8th with the opening ceremonies downtown. "Close to the Flame" is a series of community campfires hosted by artists and storytellers and held in various locations throughout the river valley.

The Ice on Whyte Festival is part of the Winter Lights festival and takes places from January 15th to the 25th in Old Strathcona.

Check out the full calendar online. There are tons of events happening until early March - plenty of time to enjoy the frosty fun!

Ahh, nothing re-kindles the civic pride like a fricken hayride through the ghetto. I'll stay home thanks. Edmonton is just too stabby.
