The Prints of Albrecht Durer at the Art Gallery of Albert

albrech durer.jpg

I spent yesterday morning wandering around the Art Gallery of Alberta (still at their temporary home at 100-10230 Jasper Ave). Their latest traveling exhibit is "The Prints of Albrecht Durer" on loan from the National Gallery of Canada.

The exhibit is primarily original woodcuts and engravings by master German artist, Albrecht Durer. The engravings date from the late 1400s into the early 1500s - it's extraordinary to see prints that old in such good condition!

The exhibition runs until November 2nd.
