Spring break fun for the kids in Edmonton

I know it's only January - but the most popular spring break camps fill up fast... and do you really want to explain to your kids why they don't get to go the cool camp this year?

Fort Edmonton Park is offering a Treasure Hunt camp from March 30th through until April 3rd for kids from 6 - 10.

"Legend has it there’s a treasure buried in Fort Edmonton Park, and you’ll have to travel through time to find out where it is in the Park. From baking cookies to leather tooling, you’ll have to re-enact the activities of the past in order to figure out where the next clue might be. Interview one of the old Edmonton residents to gather some useful clues and create a treasure map of the Park to carefully chart your clues."

The Valley Zoo has two camps for kids - the Monkey Troupe (6 - 8 years) and the Zoo Kids camp (9 - 12 years old) Both camps offer fun daily themes, from painting with Lucy the elephant to animal orienteering.

The City Arts Centre has a whole week of arts-based fun for kids from 6 - 12. Your child can explore painting, sculpting, drawing and more! Here's a link to the Winter 2009 Arts Calendar (the spring break info is on page 21)
