Saturday Shorts

Did you know that every weekend the John Janzen Nature Centre hosts a feeding event for their resident animals? You can check out the salamanders on Saturdays at 1:30 in the afternoon and on Sundays (also at 1:30) it's time for the garter snakes to get a snack.

You can also join a guided walk through the trails in the river valley, beginning at 2:30pm on both Saturdays and Sundays. There is a different theme every month, with interpreters from the centre teaching about different animals and parts of the river valley. January is all about "Winter Treasures", with a chance to hunt for animal tracks and learn about how they deal with Edmonton's winter. February is "Warm and Fuzzy" so you'll get a chance to check out different animal coats and feathers.
