On Wednesday January 13th, the Olympic torch enters Edmonton for the first time since 1988. The celebration begins at 4:30pm at the University of Alberta Butterdome with U of A Olympic Pep Rally. There will be a street hockey game
as well as roving entertainers, University mascots and music and mainstage entertainment: Christian Hansen and the Autistics - live band. The Olympic Torch Relay will arrive at 5:14 pm.

The party then heads to Whyte Avenue for Storefront Cinema from 4:45-5:15pm between 109 St. and 103 street. They will be screening a series of sports-themed films screened in store windows along Whyte Avenue.

The final event takes place in Sir Winston Churchill Square from 5:40 until 8pm with live entertainment. The final leg of the Edmonton Olympic Torch Relay will finish at approximately 7 pm with Olympian Doreen Ryan lighting the celebration cauldron in Churchill Square.
