in my opinion... sushi

I'm going to be running an ongoing series called "In My Opinion...". I've got a lot of favorite things about Edmonton that I'd like to share with you all, and of course - I want to hear back from you! Think you've found a better source for really excellent coffee or the perfect loaf of bread? Let me know...

Despite the fact that Edmonton is land-locked, I think we've got some pretty decent seafood & sushi here. Now, I know there are a lot of opinions about who makes the best sushi, but I'm throwing Mount Fuji (phone number 780-406-2065 address 9635 167 Ave) into the pot as my favorite pick for sushi.

My all-time favorite meal for lunch is a combination of their avocado rolls, Mexican maki (Japanese & Mexican? it's delicious) and California rolls, topped off with their sesame sauce. Oh darnit, I'm drooling on my keyboard again.

Order take-out ahead of time and be prepared for a line-up on weekdays - it's popular with the soldiers from CFB Edmonton. The wait is completely worth it - and so is the drive out to the North end.
