Help Clean Up the River Valley

RiverValley_Cleanup.jpgEvery Edmontonian has a special place in their heart for the River Valley: cycling, strolling and seducing enthusiasts frolic around it, boaters cruise upon it and some of our city's homeless live next to it. Unfortunately, winter litter leaves the rolling green riverbanks and lush copses of trees a little worse for wear. Come on out this Sunday to help clean it up!

This Sunday, May 4, from 10 am to 2 pm, come out to celebrate the 21st annual River Valley Clean Up. Meet at the Louise McKinney Riverside Park (next to the Shaw Conference Centre). Bring gloves, wear sturdy shoes or boots and dress for the weather. Bring your own mug for a free cup of coffee and get ready to help make Edmonton the beautiful city we love.

To pre-register, call 496-4948 or email rivervalleyclean-up@edmonton.ca. Of course, you could simply show up and they would be thrilled to meet you!

If you can't make it out to the Louise McKinney, do your part in your own favourite green space. Spend a couple of hours picking up trash and make the park down the street a little more pleasant for you and your neighbours. If we all pitch it, the task is light.
