The annual Sobeys Symphony Under The Sky from the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra returns to Hawrelak Park this weekend.

The festival kicks off this evening at 7pm, Friday, September 4, 2009 with "Sparkling Classics" conducted by Robert Bernhardt and featuring William Eddins on piano.

Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 2 pm is "Operamania!" with Robert Bernhardt, conductor and Kathleen Brett, soprano. The evening performance begins at 7 pm for "Hollywood Adventures and Romances" also with Robert Bernhardt and Kathleen Brett.

Sunday afternoon, September 6, 2009 at 2pm is the Family Concert with "Let Your Music Shine!" with Lisa & Linda (not included in weekend pass). Following the concert, the always-popular Teddy Bears Picnic happens with music, games, face painting and even a petting zoo.
The evening concert is "Simply Sinatra" at 7pm with Steve Lippia, vocalist.

The festival wraps up on Labour Day, Monday, September 7 with "From Trumpets to Tchaikovsky" at 2pm with
Robert Bernhardt, conductor, Jens Lindemann, trumpet and members of the 20th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. Bring your ear plugs for this one! It's a great event, but the artillery fire is definitely loud.
