Don't Be Scared to Be Halloween Safe

freephoto1candy.jpg

Edmonton is preparing to keep people safe and help them party responsibly this Halloween Friday night.

"We want people to have a great time, and we want patrons and staff to be safe," says Gary Godziuk, spokesperson for Responsible Hospitality Edmonton. "We have worked with bar owners and others to ensure we are minimizing the potential for any risk to people or property."

Additional security will be at the Edmonton Eskimos' game at Commonwealth Stadium. Masks and costumes will be allowed. In the city, the Edmonton Police and Fire Rescue Services will be operating with increased awareness.

"We also need people to take responsibility for their personal safety. Events such as these are not a license to ruin everyone else's fun," says Godziuk. "Save the party - be aware and plan effectively for your Halloween adventure on Friday night."

For more information, visit the city online.
