Diamonds: Mined, Refined and Designed

Are diamonds really a girl's best friend?

The Royal Alberta Museum is hosting a unique exhibit called "Diamonds: Mined, Refined and Designed" from now until January 17th, 2010.

The program deals with everything from how diamonds are formed, found, mined and even turned into jewelry. Kline Fine Jewelry has loaned the RAM a collection of diamond jewelry, so you can even learn more about the four "C"s of diamonds as well.

"Diamonds is an interactive, bi-lingual (English/French) exhibit that explores fascinating aspects of these rare, highly-sought-after jewels. Visitors will learn about the forces that forged these gems billions of years ago, and discover the complex processes involved in finding, extracting and cutting diamonds."

There are daily tours at 11am and 2pm on on Tuesdays at 11am and Fridays at 2pm you can tour the exhibit with a curator.
