Christmas Light-Up at the Legislature

legislature xmas lights 09.jpg

The Alberta Legislature kicks off their annual holiday light display this week with the "Christmas Light-Up at the Legislature"!

The University of Alberta Mixed Chorus will begin the celebration with a free performance in the rotunda on Thursday, December 3rd at 4pm. Premier Stelmach will throw the switch to light the grounds at 4:45pm. Free hot chocolate and cookies will be available to keep holiday spirits as bright as the lights.

There are all kinds of fun family holiday activities happening all month long, from free concerts in the rotunda every noon hour and between 7 - 9pm. Beginning December 1st, the pedway transforms into Santa's workshop, with free crafts for the kids. The annual pedway craft sale takes place between 10am and 2pm on December 2nd and 3rd, with more than 50 vendors selling everything from home-made crafts, holiday decor and delicious food.
