Back to our (Organic) Roots

Edmonton’s rising rental rates drove hometown favourite Organic Roots out of their gorgeous University-area space late last year. The health food grocery store and bistro was facing the end of their 5-year lease and a doubling of their rent in January, so they decided to move east along Whyte to 10152 - 82 Avenue.

Their Saturday, April 12 grand opening will feature a return of their organic produce, in-store sampling and some cooking demos. Stop in and check out how the Roots fits in to the smaller space and ask if they will continue to hold workshops on everything from raw milk cheeses to gluten-free baking.

Organic Roots on campus was a fantastic place for a snack, a meal, or a guilt-free grocery trip. The Edmonton foodie scene was poorer for their absence. Welcome back.
